Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 hungry children that would be raised together eventually, learned very young how to overcome of difficulties by using her rich and imaginative imagination. Her songs were written before she knew how to write or read. Within 8 years she had her very first guitar. In the age of 11, she began to sing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year Gold Band Records, a small independent label. While she was studying, she established a name for herself in the local music scene. But her dream was to to play on a larger level. On the 14th of March, 1964, after her high school graduation her family moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required the services of a new singer by this point. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing to RCA Records. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974, when her solo songs such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and had it reach the top spot at No. The first time in 1974.
